It’s Nanowrimo in a matter of hours — that time of the year where people across the globe band together and all try to write at least 50,000 words in a month. I’m excited and nervous because this year is so different for me.

I try to write a lot in my ordinary life outside of Nano, because I happen to love writing, but this year I’m in the midst of some big revisions for this thing I’ve been having dalliances with for quite some time. Compound that with the fact work commitments mean I can’t see Nanowrimo people IRL this year and things seem concerning. Perhaps never has it been more of a challenge to do Nanowrimo and perhaps never have I wanted to more.

I have no idea what I’ll begin (I never do) and I like it that way. I won’t plot (although I have such admiration for those who do!) and maybe I’ll get through okay through sheer will alone. Despite having a lot of other things to do in November, and a workload that’s high, perhaps because I’ve been pushing myself throughout summer I know that I can do this.

Are you doing Nanowrimo? If you are feel free to add me as a buddy! We can be pals and discuss the airspeedĀ velocity of an unladen swallow.

I wasn’t going to do NaNo this year because I’ve been avoiding writing (again) and because I have been so, so, so overwhelmed with work stuff. But one of my friends is doing it and really needed a buddy so… I started last night and I’m so glad I did! It’s great to sit without expectations and just see what kind of story happens šŸ™‚ I hope I stick with it the rest of the month šŸ™‚ I hope you have fun NaNoing away!

Ahhh fabulous! I hope you stick with it! As long as it’s fun that’s the most important part!
